Cusco Tambopata (7 days)

If desired, we pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your hostel where you can rest a little and get used to the altitude. In the afternoon we will start our city tour in Cusco: we visit the city centre with its pre-Inca, Inca and colonial streets, explore the Inca temple “Koricancha” (Temple of the Sun) and the Cathedral at “Plaza de Armas”, Cusco’s main square. Then we take you around upper Cusco where we visit the impressive Inca ruins Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. In the evening we return to Cusco.

In the morning we pick you up at your hotel and travel to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a tranquil oasis of cultural, historical, and agricultural richness just 45 minutes from Cusco where the Incas once built important cities such as Pisac and Ollantaytambo. We will enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape during the day and visit the impressive archaeological site of Pisac. After a nice traditional Buffet Lunch in Urubamba we continue our tour to Ollantaytambo. In the evening you take the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu town, where you spend the night.

Early in the morning you can either walk or take the bus up to Machu Picchu to explore one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. At Machu Picchu we are going to have a guided tour (approx. 2,5 hours), allowing time for contemplation of the amazing scenery. We will explore the Intiwatana (Temple of the Sun), the Temple of the Condor, the Temple of Three Windows, Andean terraces, and other places of interest. After the tour will have enough time to walk around the archaeological complex, capture these incredible memories on camera, feel and appreciate the energy and peacefulness of this sacred place. Optional you can enjoy the amazing view from the mountains Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu (at 7.00 or 10.00am, prior booking is necessary). In the afternoon you take the train back to Ollantaytambo and from there return to Cusco by bus.

Enjoy your last day in Cusco. We will transfer you to the airport at least 2 hours before your flight. Today you will travel to Puerto Maldonado. Upon your arrival in Puerto Maldonado, we will assist you at the airport. Then, we´ll start our program visiting the city by bus. Afterwards, we will go to the harbor to board our riverboat, we´ll navigate on the Madre de Dios River. During the journey, we will submerge into a fascinating natural environment, if we are lucky we will see Ronsocos, Turtles, Herons, Caimans, Cormorants and other animal species in their natural environment. We will enjoy a delicious welcome drink; they will assign our bungalows and will have the lunch.Our specialized tour guide will take us through an interpretive trail conveniently signposted to the Cocha caiman, a small lake with presence of specimens like Black Caiman (Melanosuchus Niger) and Caiman (Caiman Crocodilus). At the end of the day, you will appreciate the spectacular sunset in the Amazon, we return to the Lodge to have a delicious dinner, enjoy your free time to share unforgettable moments.

Waking up with the sound of birdsongs from the Amazon. A delicius breakfast will provide us the energy.We´ll start to walk towards the depths of the forest, on trails especially provided, with bridges to cross rivers. During the journey we will observe variety of Flora and Wildlife, and continuing we´ll get to the majestic Lake Apu Victor with its crystal clear waters, surrounded by marshes and giant trees. Afterwards, we´ll go up to the Observation place, from we´ll enjoy a panoramic view on the lake, observing Parrots , Toucans, Macaws, Camungos, Shanshos, and other animals, such as Caimans, Turtles, etc., and if we are lucky, we´ll have a chance to observe the Giant Otter, one of the rainforest´s most spectacular animals. Lunch and dinner in the lodge.

After breakfast, we will start an adventure in the rainforest, and accompanied by our specialized guide, we´ll go on a hike in the deep jungle, to get to the Lost Cocha which constitutes a refuge and ecosystem for variety of animals. There, we can observe Otters, Caimans, Turtles, Tapirs, Birds with multicolored feathers and a variety of fish species. Then, we´ll get to the Observation point, from which we´ll be able to appreciate the wonderful rainforest. Then we will come bak to the lodge to have the lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the monkey island, It will be accompanied by our specialized guide, we will hike for 5 minutes until this unique place we will observe beautiful landscapes, and variety of monkey species. Finally, we´ll enjoy the sunset and come back to the lodge to have the dinner.

After our breakfast we will embark the return to Puerto Maldonado.
