The Ballestas Islands, is a natural group of small Islands that host a huge numbers of birds, pelicans, boobies, Inca terns, cormorants, penguins and many others sea creatures. You will also see large groups of sea lions resting on the beaches and swimming nearby. Then we travel further south driving across a mystic desert where hundreds of years ago mysterious hands etched gigantic images on the surface. Nowadays these figures are known as the Nazca Lines.

Day 1: Lima – Paracas – Ballestas Islands – Ica – Huacachina

At 2:30 am approximately, we will pick you up at your hotel in Lima and transfer you to the bus station. From Lima we are heading south on the Panamerican Highway, passing different small villages and arrive in Paracas. From the harbor of Paracas we take a boat to the Ballestas Islands to explore this marine reserve, where you will discover sea lions, penguins, seabirds and other animals – many of them are endangered species. After visiting the islands we will take the bus to Ica and continue to Huacachina where you can relax at the oasis between impressive sand dunes in a mild climate. In the evening we take you on an adventure in the sand dunes of Ica. You will enjoy the rapid ride and can also try some sandboarding. You’ll enjoy the beautiful sunset at the dunes and return to Huacachina where we’ll spend the night. |

Day 2: Ica – Nazca(B)

In the morning you have free time to spend in Huacachina to visit the wineries for example (optional) or in the centre of Ica before we take you to the bus to Nazca. You will be pick up at the bus station and transfer to your hotel in Nazca. You will have free time to enjoy Nazca nightlife. |

Day 3: Nazca (B)

Today we will observe the famous and mysterious Nazca lines. On the Panamerican Highway we’ll cross the archaeological zone and from a large metal tower (13 meters high) we will have a perfect view on the several shapes and straight lines that cross the desert of Nazca(*) and visit the Museum of Maria Reiche. In the afternoon we’ll visit the archaeological Cemetery of Chauchilla, a more than 1000 years old necropolis that belongs to the period of the Ica-Chincha culture. |
