We start in Cusco and travel by bus taking the way to Puno (Valley southside). On the bus ride we pass several small traditional villages and you can enjoy and take pictures of the beautiful Andean landscape that surrounds us. After ca. 40 minutes we arrive at the archaeological remains of Tipón, wide terraces that are still in perfect condition, which may have been a park for the upper class or an agricultural centre in the Inca Empire. After our tour in Tipón we travel through the historical village Oropesa to another archaeological site, Pikillaqta, once one of the most important administrative centers of the Huari (or Wari) culture that dominated a large part of Peru before being absorbed by the Inca Empire. |
