We start in Cusco and travel by bus to the Sacred Valley, a former very important habitat of the Incas. On the bus ride we pass several small traditional villages and you can enjoy and take pictures of the beautiful Andean landscape that surrounds us. After ca. 30 minutes we arrive in the village Pisac to visit its archaeological complex which boasts one of the most extensive Incan ruins in Peru. We will explore the impressive site with its military, religious, and agricultural structures and then descent to the city centre to visit the popular traditional market of Pisac where you can roam around and find all kinds of handicrafts, textiles, jewelry and food. From Pisac we travel to Urubamba where we will enjoy a nice buffet lunch, then we continue our trip to the town Ollantaytambo which was once the royal estate of Emperor Pachacuti and at the time of the Spanish conquest served as a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui, the leader of the Inca resistance.
